Pot holders and a Dough Cutter

My oldest sister made me these awesome potholders a few years ago:

And I swiped this dough cutter from my mom:

Cutlery thievery!

She's had it ever since I was a little kid, but her Kitchen Aid mixer has made the poor well loved dough cutter a bit passe in her world.  But don't feel too bad for it, I have adopted it and claimed it as my own! 

  Let me just say, there are a lot of useless kitchen gadgets, but the dough cutter is NOT one of them...  There are a of uses for them beyond just pie dough...plus, for me, this is one kitchen implement that has warm fuzzy memories associated with it. 

Spoons

I found these awesome measuring spoons on clearance at Pier 1 yesterday.

Isn't it the best when you find a deal on something that fills a need and completely fits your style at the same time?

In case you'd like a lovely set of your own, here's the LINK.  I totally dig Pier 1 because they tend to have things you don't see other places...and I love, love, LOVE unique and unusual!

They have measuring cups that 'match' online (you can see them HERE), but I don't think they'd stack well because of the handle...and therefore would probably take up more room than I'm ok with.  

For now, I think I'm just gonna stick with my spoons and keep my eyes peeled for something that makes me squeal like the spoons did.
